Employee Benefits Administrator #65-80200; $54,643 - $81,894/yr; Lincoln. The State of Nebraska, Department of Administrative Services is seeking a results-oriented progressive leader with significant experience to administer the State of Nebraska Employee Benefits utilized by over 17,000 employees. Responsibilities include complete oversight for all benefits contracts and plans such as Health, Prescription, Life, Dental, Vision, Section 125 and EAP as well as developing new programs, such as other supplemental plans and wellness initiatives. This individual will oversee the development, analysis and evaluation of request for information and request for proposals for benefit programs as needed. This person will plan, prepare and conduct meetings with employees, management teams, labor union leaders, benefit consultants and the Legislature as well as interface with HR/Benefit coordinators in over 80 State agencies. REQUIREMENTS: Four year degree from an accredited institution in business, public administration or a related academic discipline is preferred. Must have demonstrated professional experience in progressively difficult assignments in a directly related professional discipline with very good communications skills. Must have a minimum of five years of managerial-level experience in administering complex benefits programs for both self and/or fully insured plans. This person should possess expertise for leading a team of employees to accomplish strategic goals and objectives for the benefits programs and that of the State. This person must be an effective manager with a solid background in all levels of internal management and operations as well as display strong customer service characteristics. This individual must have a good financial background for managing budgets with an emphasis on the stability of the state's plans and that of the all benefits program with a passion for data analysis at all levels. Pertinent professional designations (CEBS, CGBA, IPMA, SHRM) are desirable. SCC - Secretary I, Professional Development/Human Resources (Part-time Temporary)
Under the direct supervision of the Coordinator of the Office of Professional Development this position provides clerical, secretarial and receptionist support for the Professional Development and Human Resources’ Offices. This includes operating microcomputer, calculators, telephone, copy machine, FAX machine scanner, typewriter, and other equipment as assigned. Work involves: creation of detailed reports, use of spreadsheets, correspondence, room scheduling, event coordinating, maintaining Professional Development records, filing, processing mail, and receptionist coverage Receptionist coverage on an as-needed basis and includes: operating: multi-line telephone, reception of visitors, staff, students and general public.
Hours of work for this position are flexible between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with approximately a 29 hour work week. This is a part-time temporary position based on a 260-day work calendar.
